I am Umar Ahmed, founder of Twiggy Fresh. My journey toward building a healthier, more sustainable world began with a simple yet profound tradition from my childhood. Growing up, I used a natural chewing stick called Miswak—a time-honored tool for oral hygiene that’s been cherished across cultures long before the modern toothbrush. Miswak is not only effective but also biodegradable, offering a more Eco-Friendly alternative to plastic brushes. In 2018, inspired by this tradition, I founded our company with a mission to revolutionize oral care. Our goal is to offer premium products that are as kind to the planet as they are to your health. We realized early on that the impact of plastic toothbrushes is staggering—billions end up in landfills and oceans each year. In the U.S. alone, over a billion plastic toothbrushes are discarded annually.
